Today was a good opportunity for both of us to visit and pray at the temple for the first time after passing by it for many years without ever going inside to pay our respects. Today, the place was filled with many tourists who came to worship.
Many people who believe in spiritual practices come here to pray for blessings, debt relief, and career success. They also donate money for the temple's electricity and water bills and pay respects to the large Buddha statue. Today is Sunday, and we came on a good day, so there are more tourists than usual. Walking into the temple, after the hot day, it was surprisingly cool inside with a constant breeze.
After paying our respects and making wishes at the temple, we walked back out. You can easily hail a tuk-tuk right in front of the temple. It's very convenient. Those who bring cars can park at Sanam Luang and then hail a tuk-tuk to take them back to the temple, or they can take a leisurely stroll around the city. The walk around is about two to three kilometers (taking a vehicle is recommended).
After paying respects at the temple, you can stroll along Wang Lang Market. On the way back in the evening, it's nice to sit at Sanam Luang, enjoy the view, and feel the cool breeze before heading home to rest. A fun day off goes by so quickly!!
